What a nice, detailed list. The best gift I can receive on Mother’s Day is a day of rest and peace and quiet. I spend every other day of the year working my tail off so I definitely deserve a day of doing absolutely nothing. Pampering would be good too. haha!

  2. Pam

I would love a day of doing nothing! It never seems to happen, though.

  60. Alena Belleque

Mother’s Day is really hard for me. I can’t really celebrate my mother; she was abusive (still is, though she’s improving in some areas), and I currently have no contact with her because it was the safest option after over a decade trying to find a way to let her be part of my life, as an adult. So I grieve the relationship I don’t have, and the loving mother I remember vaguely from my very, very early memories. But I have a beautiful little girl of my own, now, and while at only three Mother’s Day isn’t something she understands on her own at all yet, her daddy helps her make it special for me. No clue what that will look like this year, but I’m excited to find out. I’m hoping Mother’s Day can become something I look forward to more than I feel sad about.

My mother is a minimalist. She’s always been really hard to buy for. She doesn’t wear jewelry. She’s tiny so she wears kids clothes and shoes. I can’t seem to find things that she likes cause shes so stinking picky. LOL So, over the years I have learned to make her s a simple beauty or food basket full of her normal soaps , make up, tea or coffee that she uses. Sure, she could buy those things herself, but at least I give her a bit of a break and I know my stuff isn’t ending up under the bed.
