Disney's Best Hidden Bars and Restaurants

Disney's Best Hidden Bars and Restaurants

For some Disney diners, finding hidden bars and restaurants is all about finding a place to enjoy a meal that isn’t packed to the gills and for others it’s all about being in the know. If either is what you’re after, or if you just want to find another Disney World dining option that isn’t all everyone is talking about, these hidden restaurants and bars are all great options. From sit down to fast food to bars that have complete menus too, there is always something new to discover in your favorite park.

Boatwright’s, Port Orleans Riverside

Resort restaurants tend to go unnoticed if they don’t make it on any of the many top places to dine while at Disney World lists. and Boatwright’s is one of them. This restaurant dining hall can be found at the Riverside option of the resort, and is a great place for southern cooking with plenty of Cajun options that really pack in the flavor. One of the biggest complaints at Disney is that much of the food is bland in order to appeal to the masses, but you won’t find that a problem here. Decor-wise, the restaurant is unique, with a riverside, boat repair shack theme that makes it really feel like you are in the Deep South.

Yak & Yeti, Animal Kingdom

Most Disney guests have never heard of Yak & Yeti, but it’s a great little bar that serves up a full specialty drink menu alongside a few great dishes. The ambiance here is lounge style, so it really is a great place to put up your feet for a little while, get off the beaten path and recharge before heading back out into the delights of Asia. Fortunately, this place is so hidden and undiscovered that there is always a seat in the place, even on the busiest days at Disney.

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, Magic Kingdom

This large cafe gets the thumbs up from a lot of Disney regulars and even cast members that will tell you it is a little known place to dash for lunch. Located in Tomorrowland, Cosmic Ray’s has a space theme and serves casual American favorites, like burgers and fries. Here though, you have a toppings bar where you can customize your meal to your heart’s content. Here in the Magic Kingdom, nearby sit down restaurants that offer a character appearance often grab all the attention.

Tortuga Tavern, Magic Kingdom

Most guests miss this restaurants because there are so many incredible attractions in this section of the park that dominate their time and attention. If you are open to trying new places in the parks this place is for you, where they serves up tacos, burritos, and other Mexican favorites. The food is good and fast, so you can order while the kiddos are busy taking pirate lessons or get on their next favorite ride and have a couple plates ready to split by the time they get back.

Sanaa, Animal Kingdom Lodge

Sanaa is this incredible restaurant at Disney that gets little attention because it serves a cuisine that most people are not familiar with. The menu is a fusion of Indian and African cuisine, which confuses a lot of people, but once you try it, you’ll learn why it’s worth seeking. Everything here is worth a dinner reservation, from the decor, to the view of the African Savannah, to the delicious food that is cooked in open ovens.

  69. Heather

Disney has some of the best restaurants. We love going to this one place every time we go that serves an awesome monte cristo that you can’t get anywhere else. There’s just something about it.

  70. Melisa

Cosmic Ray’s is an often overlooked gem. It’s my youngest child’s favorite Disney restaurant. He loves the roasted chicken meal and the salads. When the kids were younger we could do two of the roasted chicken meals for the whole family of and have full bellies for $20. Nowadays with two growing boys it takes 3, but a full meal for 5 for $30 is still a bargain, especially in a theme park!

  71. Lisa @bitesforbabies
