Over the years, my husband Chris and I have had some pretty epic dates. When we were first dating he took me to a shooting range & that’s the exact moment when I knew he was a keeper.
When it comes to fun date nights, he’s got a knack for finding some pretty cool things for us to do. We’ve gone to a couple of paint nights, tons of different ghost tours, we’ve made our own beer – from scratch and we’re regulars down at the Firehouse Theater in Newport, RI to see the Bit Players, which is an improv comedy troupe.
This is us at the Medieval Manor in Boston, which is a themed dinner & show. It was one of my favorite dates.
I’m not sure if this qualifies as a “date” per se, but last year when we were in Manhattan to see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, he let me drag him all the way across town to see the Ghostbusters headquarters. It was rainy and cold that day, but he knew it made me happy.
One of the things I really love about some of his date ideas is that sometimes they turn into weekends away.
Oh and then there was this night…….
Wait, that’s not my husband. HA! Donnie may not realize it, but I consider it to be our first date.
But getting back on track. Chris got me Weird Al tickets for my birthday this past July and it was the second best date night we’ve been on. I saw Weird Al about 20 years ago & Chris listened when I told him how much I loved it and ended up getting us tickets when his tour came to the area.
This is a picture from my all time favorite date night with Chris. I had no idea what the date was and all he told me was to get dressed up and to be ready at 5 pm. I was standing in my kitchen when I saw a limo pull up.
We ended up taking the limo into the North End of Boston for a murder mystery dinner. It was a mafia themed show & we ate a great Italian meal while we tried to solve the mystery. It was SO. MUCH. FUN!
Chris told me the other day that he had an awesome date night planned for this Friday night. We’re going to see an 80’s cover-band. Of course that means that the two of us will be all decked out in 80’s attire for the night. Sounds like fun, right? Right. Well, since I know that I’ve got a hot date coming up in just a few days, I ran over to Walmart to pick up all of my date night essentials.
I figure that it’s going to be a late, long night, so I want to be prepared for anything.
As excited I am to see the band, the show doesn’t start until 9 pm – which is past my bedtime. Not only that, Chris and I are heading down to NYC on Wednesday afternoon (to see the parade again) and we won’t be heading home until Friday afternoon. Knowing us, we’re probably going to be exhausted from the whirlwind getaway. When we’re super tired like that, we both get headaches. Cue the Advil Liqui-Gels (Use as directed). Nothing’s faster on tough pain (among OTC pain relievers)! Advil Liqui-Gels are also great for muscle aches and joint pain! Who knows how sore we’ll be from all the walking we will be doing in NYC.
I also grabbed some Emergen-C because I want to stay healthy for the date night. With over 20 varieties of vitamin supplement drink mixes, Emergen-C offers the formula, flavor, fix, and FUN you’re looking for!
Finally, I grabbed some ChapStick Total Hydration. I want to make sure that my lips are kissable for my big date. ChapStick Total Hydration is 100% Natural, age defying, contains omega 6 & 9 and visibly renews lips.
I also make sure to have some tissues, gum and a few hair ties with me when I go out – just in case.
What are the things you can’t leave the house for a date night without?
